PDP Crisis: I Am Waiting For Wike, I’ve Met Him Personally Five Times – Atiku
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar says it is up to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to resolve the crisis rocking the party.
Speaking on Sunday, Atiku declared that he has met Wike five times already and is waiting for his response. He added that he has personally met the Rivers State Governor two times in Port Harcourt, two times in Abuja, and one time in London.
Track News reports the former Vice President stated this on Sunday during a town hall discussion hosted by Channels Television.
He made the revelation when he was asked during the programme why the PDP crisis is yet to be resolved about two months to the February 2023 presidential election.
Responding to the question, Atiku said: “I have met Wike two times in Port Harcourt, two times in Abuja, one time in London, personally.
“It is not on my part; it is on the other side; I am waiting for him.”
It would be recalled that after losing the PDP presidential ticket to Atiku and failing to clinch the vice presidential slot as well, Wike and some other stakeholders have vowed not to support the presidential ambition of Atiku.
Wike and his loyalists including the aggrieved G5 Governors have insisted on the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as the PDP National Chairman as the only condition to support Atiku’s presidential ambition.
Ayu has also however insisted on remaining in the position, arguing that the PDP gave him a four-year mandate and only the party and not some individuals can tell him to leave the position.
