PDP crisis:Ayu denied submitting his resignation letter to David Mark.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Iyorchia Ayu, the Peoples Democratic Party’s National Chairman, has denied submitting his resignation letter to former Senate President David Mark.
According to reports, Ayu submitted his resignation letter to Mark on Monday, in accordance with the agreement that the party chairman and the presidential candidate could not be from the same region.
In a statement issued through his media aide, Simon Imobo-Tswam, Ayu denied the claim.
He also stated that he was elected National Chairman of the party for the next four years.
If Ayu decides to resign, he will send his resignation letter to the Deputy National Chairman (North), not Mark.
He couldn’t figure out why he’d sent such a letter to Mark, who isn’t even a member of the party’s National Working Committee.
According to the PDP National Chairman, those seeking his removal from office are unaware of the party’s constitution.
Ayu urged party members and the PDP to disregard the report-making round in which his resignation letter was submitted.
He went on to say that he has been given the task of leading PDP on a rescue mission by February 2023.
