PDP Governors, NWC Meet in Ibadan, Push for Wike, Anyanwu’s Removal

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, amid growing calls for the expulsion of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and the removal of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary.
Hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde, the high-level meeting includes over eight governors, NWC members, and key stakeholders, as the party seeks to resolve internal conflicts and chart a course ahead of the 2027 elections.
Top on the agenda is the endorsement of Hon. SKE Udeh Okoye as National Secretary, backed by a recent Supreme Court judgment, and the political crisis in Rivers State involving the suspended Vice Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Party leaders have reiterated support for peaceful resolutions but insist that Wike’s ouster remains a critical demand of the party faithful nationwide.
