PDP is committed to saving Nigeria – Chieftain

By Adeleye Kunle
Mr. Emmanuel Ogidi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, says the party is committed to rescuing Nigeria from its security and economic challenges.
Ogidi, a former South-South National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated this in an interview with Track News on Sunday in Abuja.
He stated that PDP members were more determined than ever to rescue Nigeria from its current predicament.
The party chieftain assured members who were dissatisfied with the results of the recent party primaries that they would not leave the party because “the PDP is the only vehicle to achieve that dream.”
Ogidi stated that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue, and former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti, among others, would remain in the party.
He claims that the PDP, as one big family, has an internal mechanism to deal with any dissatisfaction.
“We’ll deal with it; it’s nothing major.” “We’ve seen all of these types of crises before in the party,” he said.
Rumours circulating that there was a plot to depose the party’s National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu, were dismissed by Ogidi as false.
Such rumors, according to the party stalwart, are the work of the country’s main opposition party’s enemies.
He stated that the time had not yet come to share power across the six geopolitical zones, stating that “such discussions are done after victory at the polls.”
