PDP Made You Army Chief – Senator Abaribe Bombs Ihejirika

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (PDP-Abia South) has berated a former Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Azubuike Ihejirika, for campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking as a guest on Magic FM, Abaribe expressed regret that the former general was campaigning against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) whose government made him an army chief.
He expressed disappointment in seeing Ihejirika campaign for a party that, according to him, has much disdain for the South-east.
“My greatest regret in the entire campaign is seeing Gen. Ihejirika coming to campaign in Aba,” he said.
Senator Abaribe recalled that the administration of the PDP always backed the Igbos, making Ihejirika the CoAS for the first time.
“The same man is supporting a party that has so much disdain for Igbos. Ihejirika is with APC that has pushed out our people to a point that you hardly see any Igbo in the top rank of the military and other forces. It’s an unfortunate one,” Abaribe said.
“People are being kidnapped and killed in all parts of the country including Southeast, Abia and Isiukwuato LGA where Ihejirika hails from, yet no APC member from these areas have come up to condemn the killings.
“No APC senator from the Southeast has called on the Presidency to sit up and solve insecurity problems,“ he stated.
