Peter Obi Promises: “I Will Make Certain That Bayelsa Eats Fish From Their Rivers Again.”

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has lamented the poor treatment of residents in Bayelsa State.
Obi stated on Friday during the LP residential campaign rally that if elected, he will ensure that Bayelsa receives its fair share from Nigeria.
The former Anambra Governor promised to address the state’s flood problems rather than ignoring them as others had.
Obi stated that he would clean up the state’s water pollution and ensure that Bayelsans could fish again.
“Let me assure you, whatever is wrong with this family (country), we will fix it,” he said. Anything I do must be based on justice, fairness, and goodness for Nigeria.
“Let me assure the people of Bayelsa State, Nigeria has not treated you well, when you were under flood, Nigeria did not care, I was the first person that stop our rally to visit Bayelsa because Bayelsa was under water. We will make certain that Bayelsa receives a fair share of what they have contributed to Nigeria.
“All of the other parties have made promises to Bayelsa State in the past but have not kept them. We will not do that; Bayelsa State deserves more than what it is currently receiving from Nigeria, and I will give it to them. Bayelsa must have the best roads possible because this is where Nigeria discovered its first commercial quantities of crude oil.
“Everywhere there is environmental pollution, I will clean up, Bayelsa will be able to fish and eat fish from their rivers again. Most importantly, we will dredge the rivers Niger and Benue to prevent flooding in Bayelsa.”
