Pipeline monitoring: INYA claims there are plans to steal a contract in the Isoko nation

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The ISOKO National Youth Assembly, or INYA, has expressed concern over purported attempts by some people who are not native to the Isoko country to sabotage the execution of the pipeline surveillance contract for personal political gain.
Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, was congratulated by INYA on “the well merited award of the pipeline surveillance contract by the NNPC Limited” in a statement by INYA’s president, Amos Etaluku.
“We are announcing our position on the contract’s execution in the Isoko nation,” Etaluku stated. Its complete value chain must be carried out by Isoko individuals, with no non-Isoko individuals involved in any way.
“We have information that some individuals from other tribes are attempting to use the contract’s execution in the Isoko nation for their own political gain. We stress that even if the non-Isoko person names his stooge to front for him, there should not be a non-Isoko person in the chain of execution in the Isoko part of this contract.
Any attempt to undermine our rightful participation in this contract will be greeted with resistance, which will not only undermine the goals that the Isoko Nation had in mind when it was made, but also put at risk the political and allied interests that such subversion is meant to serve.
“We have more than enough qualified individuals across the whole value chain to manage the contract’s execution in the Isoko Nation with an eye on equity and fairness, local content, and fairness.
We will continue to work with the Federal Government, NNPC, and the GOC as a group of capable and forward-thinking young people, and we will act as watchdogs for the protection of the interests of the Isoko people, who have elected us to do things of this type in situations like this.
“We are requesting that the GMD of NNPC, stakeholders, and the general public take note by means of this statement. They claim that “a stitch in time, saves nine.”
