Police Arraign Security Guard For Allegedly Stealing 46 Bags Of Rice

Police on Monday, had arraigned a 46-year-old security guard, Isiaka Gbadamosi, in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 46 bags of rice, vegetable oil, seasoning and salt.
The police charged Gbadamosi with three counts of theft, burglary, and conspiracy.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Bose Soyemi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between Jan. 29 and Jan. 30, at about 10:00 pm to 7am along Ilesa garage, Osogbo.
Soyemi alleged that the defendant, being the security guard on duty at Adewoye Ezekiel, the complainant’s premises, stole the bags of rice, vegetable Oil, seasoning and salt worth N713,000.
She said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 413, 516, 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11, laws of Osun, 2003.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Defence Counsel, Mrs Bose Adeyinka, prayed the court to grant her client bail.
The Magistrate, Mrs Aishat Oloyade, granted the prayers of the defence counsel and admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
Oloyade ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should must show evidence of tax payments to the court’s registrar.
She adjourned the case until March 14, for hearing. (NAN)
