The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old man, Julius Ochim, for allegedly impregnating his daughter, who later had a baby girl for him.
Julius was picked up by the police after his daughter whom he had been having sex with for over eight years, reported him to the Sagamu police station. Police investigations showed that the suspect started having sex with his daughter in 2009 shortly after the death of his wife, the mother of the girl. She got pregnant three years ago and had a baby girl for her father.
Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect ”confessed to have been sleeping with the girl since the demise of his wife, adding that he had problem with the girl when she started going out with another man, whom she said she wanted to get married to.”
Oyeyemi added that the matter has been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta.
