Police Arrest Four Suspects For Snatching Car At Gunpoint In Edo
The command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, through painstaking tech-driven investigation, recovered the snatched vehicle and arrested all the suspects involved, including the buyer.
Four suspects have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly snatching a Toyota Highlander at gunpoint.
It was gathered that three of the suspects, Ifeanyi Okpara (26), Dennis Okosun (25) and Edwin Iruogbe (27) snatched the vehicle with registration number RBC 66 AQ, at Ekpoma.
The police said the suspect sold the vehicle to the fourth suspect, Shehu Ismail (25), for N1.5 million.
The state Commissioner of Police, Nemi Edwin-Iwo, said the owner of the vehicle, Iwologbe Rapheal, reported the car theft to police on August 23.
He said operatives of the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit, through painstaking tech-driven investigation, recovered the snatched vehicle and arrested all the suspects involved, including the buyer.
He said a locally made pistol with two live cartridges was recovered from them.
Edwin-Iwo said the suspects had confessed to the crime and would be charged to court soon.
