Police Confirm Rescue Of Two Abducted Kaduna Baptist School Students

The Kaduna Police Command has confirmed the release of two of the abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to the spokesperson of the police command, Mohammed Jalige, the two students were rescued on Wednesday evening around Rijanna area along the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
Jalige noted that the rescued students are currently undergoing a medical examination in a police medical facility in the state.
“Yes, two of the students were rescued this evening along Kaduna-Abuja highway and they are undergoing medical examination,” he told TheCable.
TrackNews Online recalls the gunmen about two weeks ago, invaded Bethel Secondary School in Maramara Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted scores of students.
The affected secondary school is a boarding school located on the outskirts of Kaduna.
The bandits later freed one of the students on medical condition but are demanding ransom before other students are released.
The Nation quoted one of the parents as saying the church and parents were already working round the clock to raise the ransom.
He explained the bandits want N500, 000 per student, making a total of N60 million.
According to him: “Some amounts have been gathered but the church is trying to raise additional funds from members of the church and well-wishers to complete the money. We the parents have already been contributing to the pool.”
