Police Killed My First Child, Called Him An Armed Robber And Beat Me Ruthlessly – Mother

The mother of Seyi Fasere,the final year student of Ekiti State University who was shot dead by the police in Ilupeju Ekiti has narrated her ordeals to the Punch newspaper.

The mother of the deceased, Florence Fasere who is aged 62 years said she was a trader but has not been able to work since police killed his first child.She added that her son, Seyi was shot dead by a policeman popularly known as Akobi Esu.

Her son was killed at a police station at Obalasan in Ilupeju Ekiti,a small town in Ekiti State, Southwest, Nigeria with the allegations that he was an armed robber.

She said her son was not an armed robber but a student of the state’s university which is located in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital.

The mother of the victim of police brutality said she was beaten ruthlessly and put behind bars after she visited the police station where her son was allegedly killed.

When asked if she can testify at the panel of Enquiry set up by the state government to get justice for victims of police brutality, she answered that she will testify if she is invited.
