Police open fire on protesting Niger Delta students in Benin City
The Protest by the Niger Delta students at the Benin head office of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Corporation has taken a different twist this Thursday as one of the female Protesters was allegedly hit by a bullet shot by one of the police attached to the corporation.
The students had embarked on peaceful protest after they accused the management of alledged diversion of training materials and financial benefit approved for the two day programs focusing on drawing awareness on the provision of petroleum industrial act.
But the Protest turned violent as it enters day two when a yet to be identified officer opened fire to disperse the converging students away from the entrance of the Facility.
The injured student has been taken to Nigerian Airforce hospital for medical attention
