Police recover guns hidden under tricycle seat in Asaba

Operatives of the Delta State Commissioner of Police Decoy Squad have recovered a fabricated AK 47 rifle, twelve (12) rounds of 9mm live ammunition and twenty-three (23) live cartridges concealed in a black polythene bag.
The weapon was found hidden beneath the rear passenger’s seat of a tricycle at the Hausa Market in Asaba.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.
He said the items were recovered during a thorough search of a tricycle after a distress call by residents.
According to DSP Edafe, “The Command in a swift response to a distress call from Hausa Market in Asaba, about some suspicious looking persons using a tricycle in the area, operatives of Command’s CP-Decoy Squad were detailed to the area where the hoodlums on sighting the Police abandoned a de-faced tricycle and took to their heels.”
DSP Edafe said, “effort is been intensified in collaboration with local vigilantes to arrest the fleeing suspects
