By Adeleye Kunle
About 300 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State have defected to the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party, ahead of the 2023 general elections (PDP).
According to Track News, the defectors in Nasarawo burned APC flags and brooms.
In related news, the Labour Party has received several political decampees from the APC and the PDP in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area (LGA).
Bashir Idris Aliyu, the Labour Party’s deputy governorship candidate in the state, who is from the local government, received the decampees at Mararaban Jos, shortly before the local government party office was unveiled.
According to him, over 50,000 of his well-wishers from the local government have already followed him to the party, but only those present at the formal decamping event will be received symbolically.
