Buhari To Oshiomhole: Rededicate Your Life To Good Politics
President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole to shun politics of bitterness.
Buhari’s message to Oshiomhole was contained in a birthday message to the former labour leader on Sunday in commemoration of his (Oshiomhole’s) 69th birthday.
The President who noted that Oshiomhole was getting closer to becoming a septuagenarian, urged him to work more for the prosperity of those in need by building bridges among people.
Buhari’s birthday message, titled “President Buhari felicitates with Oshiomhole on 69th birthday,” was made available to newsmen by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.
It reads: “President Muhammadu Buhari felicitates with former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on the occasion of his 69th birthday.
“President Buhari joins family, friends and well-wishers around the country to celebrate the former Governor of Edo State, thanking God for a life of service to the nation, good health and opportunity to commemorate this special day.
“As the former labour leader looks forward to joining the club of septuagenarians, the President urges him to rededicate his life to working for the prosperity of those in need, building bridges among people of diverse backgrounds and faith; and inspiring others to be patriotic, eschewing politics of division and acrimony.
“President Buhari also recognizes the immense contributions the former national chairman has made to our nation, wishing the people’s comrade more years of service to build a better country.”
Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has denied appointing any individual or group to negotiate with bandits on its behalf.
TracKnews recalls that bandits had in March stormed the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna state and abducted 39 students comprising 23 females and 16 males.
The gunmen, a few days later, kidnapped teachers from UBE Primary School in Rama, a village in Birnin Gwari LGA of the state.
The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, warned that the government would prosecute anyone negotiating with bandits on its behalf.
The Kaduna government also urged residents to reports any individual or group negotiating with bandits.
