Double Celebrations as JTF Operation Delta Safe Recognizes PYC With an Award of Excellence.

**Amidst Jubilations for Gov. Douye Diri’s Supreme Court Victory

It has been a day of double celebrations for Bayelsa Youths as amidst the landmark judgement confirming Gov. Douye Diri’s victory by the Supreme Court of Nigeria following protracted legal battles at the instance of opposition political parties.

Reacting to the judgement of the apex court, the PYC in a statement issued by its Secretary General Barr. Ayebakuro Igbeta stated the victory is for Bayelsa state, as the governor would now be settled for the business of governance unhindered by suits challenging his legitimacy which the Supreme Court has now confirmed as expressed by Bayelsans through the ballot back in November, 2023.

The Senr-Comr. Doubara Kumokuo led organization popular for its fearless approach to issues of youths development, capacity building and empowerment used the opportunity to call on Bayelsans especially the youths to now jettison their different political inclinations and join the Prosperity government in the critical work of developing Bayelsa State. The statement reminded that Bayelsa belongs to all Bayelsans therefore everyone must join in its building, if we hope to make progress as a people, and that the PYC is a ready formidable platform for anyone willing to serve and contribute in this rigorous process of state building.

In a related development, the Commander of the JTF Operation Delta Safe South-South Rear Admiral J. U. Okeke has on behalf of the JTF Headquarters conferred an award of Excellence on the Leadership of the Prosperity Youths Coalition for its selfless service to youth building, commitment to youths development and empowerment.

Presenting the award to the leadership of the PYC, the Commander commended the zeal, availability and sincerity with which the PYC conducts its outreaches, sensitization campaigns and campaign against social vices, especially its ability to mobilize youths to a common goal, that these acts of commitment and purpose have made the organization and Bayelsa youths stand out, triggering many including the JTF headquarters to recognize the organization with the award and mark it as major point of contact for civilian partnership in the efforts towards ensuring a crime free society.

In appreciation of the recognition and award, Director General Senr-Comr. Doubara Kumokuo promised that the PYC is poised to through its very large structure reaching every community in the state, support the military and other development partners who come to do business in Bayelsa and will continue to strive to achieve the goals of the Prosperity administration, the core of which is an all round and all encompassing prosperity of all Bayelsans.

Igbeta Esq on his part stated that the JTF award brings a sense of fulfillment knowing that society sees and watch each one in whatever we do, and service to people must be a singular motivation to all. The scribe further called on Bayelsan youths to close ranks amongst themselves, as in the end we all want the same thing which is the growth of Bayelsa youths, therefore must not allow ourselves divided by partisan politics.
