Ex-Bayelsa State Transport Commissioner Ayakpo Grace Rejects Gov. Diri’s S.A Appointment
***Sights Personal Reasons For Rejection
It is on record that Governor Douye Diri approved the appointment of over 45 special Advisers to serve in the prosperity administration, one of whom is a Former commissioner for transport Hon Grace Ayakpo Ekiotenne who in a surprising move has rejected the appointment barely hours after the announcement was made.
This surprising turn of event has birthed mixed reactions from Political observers and Bayelsans at large.
By Political ranking the position of a Commissioner is higher than a special adviser, Could the refusal be a rejection of Grace to Grass syndrome? Well Hon. Grace Ayakpo Ekiotenne in a letter personally signed by her highlights some reasons.
“I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for the offer to serve as Special Adviser, conveyed to me by the Secretary to the State Government.
After careful thought and due to personal commitments and other reasons, I regret to decline this appointment.
I am honored to have been considered for this role and appreciate the trust you have placed in me.
I wish you and the your government all the best.”
However why many Bayelsans are surprised by the action of the Former Ekeremor commissioner, the beautifully written rejection letter by Hon. Grace Ayakpo Ekiotenne maybe covering the truth behind the rejection of Gov Douye Diri’s S.A appointment.
