Notable Northern elites have commended the formation of the League of Northern Democrats (LND), a new group aimed at uniting major stakeholders from the North to proffer solutions to the numerous challenges facing the region.

Former Vice President Arc. Muhammad Namadi Sambo and former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Abdulrahaman Bello Dambazau (Rtd.) have endorsed the LND, describing its formation as “timely” and a “veritable platform” to address the region’s challenges.

Sambo, while hosting the LND leadership at his Abuja residence, expressed his support for the initiative, noting that the region faces numerous challenges, including insecurity, which has crippled agriculture, education, and healthcare, exacerbating poverty and inequality.
