The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Legal adviser south-South zone , Mr Alaboh George Turnah gave the assurance at the inauguration of twenty-two man flood management committee across party line in Ogbia Ward 9, Ogbia Local government area of Bayelsa state.

In his speech, he said; I have experienced the damages caused by the raging flood and I was one who supported the victims of the devastating floods and natural disasters in 2012. I am distressed by the images, videos and reports I got from Kolo Ward 9 communities in Ogbia LGA Bayelsa state.

I can state categorically the level of damage and devastation this has caused and the toll it has on families and livelihoods. I also understand the limits to what the government or any one person can do. After receiving the reports, I consulted and had meetings with relevant authorities to see how my little financial support and that of Turnah’s foundation can help the victims, which is I am also directed affected by the flood.

I have since, like any other leader been glut with the cries of our people which are genuine. Hence the urgent reason for the constitution of the flood committee to manage the flood with donation of the sum of two million naira (2,000,000) only as my direct assistant to the flood victims and the sum of five million naira (5,000,000) from Turnah’s foundation to manage the post flood period because of my experience in 2012 post flood time. Track news gathered that Mr Alaboh George Turnah dole out a total of seven million naira (7,000,000) to Kolo Ward 9 communities in Ogbia LGA, Bayelsa state. He urged them to selflessly work together for the good people Kolo Ward 9.

Hon George prayed that the funds be managed dispassionately no matter how little, irrespective of the political divide, he called for understanding as no amount of monetary support can be sufficient at this trying time.In his calm voice he said, This is my little way of adding to whatever support the government and well-meaning individuals and organizations have been doing. The administrative secretary of 4+4 prosperity movement for Senator Douye Diri second Term bid, appreciated the efforts of the miracle governor his Excellency senator Douye Diri in mitigating effects of the havocs the flood is wrecking.

In appreciation remark, the chairman of the flood management committee Chief Saturday Edri thanked Evang. Alaboh George Turnah.
