Gov. Ododo Didn’t Pay ₦72,500 Minimum Wage, He Lied; HE Paid ₦30K–₦39K—Kogi Lecturer Cries Out
***Begs Ododo to Retract His “Satanic” Minimum Wage and Approve Promotion
A senior lecturer at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), formerly known as Kogi State University, Eleojo Joy Agama Ebeh, has publicly accused the Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, of dishonesty regarding the payment of the ₦72,500 minimum wage.
According to the lecturer, the widely celebrated announcement of a ₦72,500 minimum wage is false, and workers, including herself, received far less than promised.
In a passionate social media post, Ebeh lamented that instead of the ₦72,500 the governor promised, employees were only paid between ₦30,000 and ₦39,000. She described this wage disparity as “satanic,” expressing outrage at the deception.
One of her comments reads: “He promised ₦72,000, little did we know the formula for it. What we got is ₦30,000+, nobody has up to ₦40,000. So the formula is the satanic ₦30,000 minimum wage deducted from the evil spirit ₦72,000 minimum wage. It’s ₦30,000+ across ranks and levels.”
She urged Governor Ododo to retract the alleged misleading wage announcement and revert to the previous salary structure until the issues are addressed.
Ebeh also called on the governor to approve long-pending promotions, expressing frustration over the stagnant growth of staff members despite the promises made by the administration.
