The presidential candidate of the Alliance Congress Party of Nigeria (APCN), Oby Ezwkwesili, on Monday, October 29, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a Siamese twin of destruction.

She said 2019 should not be a repeat of what has happened in the country as Nigeria cannot remain a recycling plant for the aged who have lost ideas.

Ezwkwesili said Nigerians do not love bondage and therefore cannot live between the APC and the PDP saying the candidates of the party are brothers of a ruling class that has manipulated the people for many years.

Speaking in Lagos on the state of the nation and her reason for coming into politics, the former minister said she accepted to serve the country when she was contacted in 1999 to help the country with other technocrats.

She, however, said what she experienced in government showed the crippling mindset of corrupt politicians.

She said she decided after then never to take part in politics, but that years after she left government, the situation is now worse.

She recalled all the alleged sins of the PDP in government and wondered how some Nigerians can be forgetful.

She accused Atiku Abubakar of massive corruption adding that most of the allegations against him occurred while the candidate of the PDP was the vice president.

Concerning the APC, she said the current administration led the country to the worst recession in it’s history.

Ezekwesili slammed vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, for saying that handing bailout to governors for payment of salaries is an achievement.

On the acclaimed fight against corruption, Ezekwesili asked: “Can corruption fight corruption?”

She recalled the cases of Abdulrasheed Maina and the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, as cases in point.

“I shudder to imagine the amount of corruption that would be uncovered about this government when Nigerians throw them out by 2019,” she said.

She said she decided to join the race for Nigerians not to have they had no choice in the electoral process.

Ezekwesili boasted that she has never been faced with any allegation or scandal.

She said she had personally visited the Sambisa forest to play her part in the fight to rescue and free kidnapped children.

She said Nigeria has not moved forward because the leaders the country has got have zero capacity and that they get to Aso Rock behaving like they own the world.

She boasted of creating solutions that have saved the country from crashing on several occasions.

She recalled all that she did in education and mineral resources ministries while she was in charge.

She said she had advised and worked with leaders who have implemented policies to the extent that she is now ashamed of the kinds of leaders Nigeria can come up with.

“You know my records, you know that when I say I will do it, you can take it to the bank.

“Are we not tired of managing poverty, death and destruction?

“The world is watching to see the kind of leader we would elect. How sad it would be if we elect incompetence ahead of competence. How sad it would be to elect a man who hops from one party to another only to seek to grab power.

“These people are still talking about oil when the world is leaving the oil economy,”

In fact, we should give them the oil to finance drink so we can think about rebuilding the nation,” she said while listing out how she would turn the country around.e of this report.

She pledged to release her documents to show that developing Nigeria is not as impossible as the “old men” want to think about.

On why she declared late, she said she waited long to know whether those in charge could have a rethink and do the right thing.

She added that her interest in politics increased after she watched the way some young presidential aspirants who wanted to come up with an accepted candidate truncated the process recently.

She noted that three months is a long time in politics and that this was the right time to come into the race.

“Time is not the issue. Time is not the reason you have not stood up to fight for your country. It is not time but fear.

“You think we have no choice, you think we cannot to defeat them. We have time.

“Do you know that the country is in precipice of a major take-down? Why should we wait for 2023? If you don’t give your votes now, when will anyone have the momentum for this in 2023?

“Have you seen the indicators? The country is on fire and we are fiddling. There is a fierce urgency now.

“Let not your heart be troubled because this shall be the 21st century David killing the Goliath,” she said.

Ezekwesili said the battle is between Buhari, Atiku and the people of the country who she represents.

TRACK NEWS had reported that the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Oby Ezekwesili, said her party was going to give the 2019 presidential election everything because it is fighting for the soul of Nigeria.

Ezekwesili speaking on Monday, October 8, on Channels TV, said politicians in the country do not care about the plight of Nigerians.
