The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has stated that the state’s Revenue House will be completely renovated by September, with the contractor completing the imposing edifice in Alausa, Ikeja.

In the meantime, Sanwo-Olu will unveil the State Resident Identity Card, or LAG ID Card, tomorrow at the Police College in Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

The governor made the remarks about the revenue house while leading an inspection of the eight-story structure formerly known as Elephant House yesterday.

The Revenue House is a multi-department office complex being built to house all of the state government’s revenue-generating agencies under one roof.

The Lagos Inland Revenue Service, LIRS, will occupy a large portion of the complex, with the remaining space shared by other agencies such as the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), and Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LAASA).

According to Sanwo-Olu, bringing the revenue agencies under one roof will improve their individual capacity for overall efficiency and collective delivery of their mandates.

According to the Governor, the structure will provide one-stop revenue services to individuals and organizations that pay taxes to the government.

According to Mrs. Ibilola Kasunmu, General Manager, Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, LASRRA, the launch will take place simultaneously across the state’s five divisions, namely: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, and Epe, with one of the key highlights of the day being a live demonstration of the smart card, its benefits, and the unveiling by the governor.

According to Kasunmu, the new LAG ID Card has more features and functionalities to give card holders broader and faster access to Lagos State Government services.
