Silga Traditional Rulers Council Congratulates Gov. Douye Diri On Supreme Court Victory

The Southern Ijaw council of Traditional Rulers led by His Royal Highness Job Darius David, has congratulated Governor Douye Diri and his deputy Sen Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo over their Supreme Court triumph, describing the victory as the manifestation of the overall love and support the governor enjoys from Bayelsa citizens and beyond.

They highlighted the achievements of the governor, especially on his resolve to ensure that due process prevail in protection of traditional rulers in southern Ijaw and across the state.

The SILGA Traditional Rulers council said the landmark judgment was not only a testament to the confidence that the people of Bayelsa State have placed in the PDP and its candidates, but also a reaffirmation of the rule of law and the integrity of Nigeria’s judicial system. The chairman was proud of the exceptional leadership displayed by governor Douye Diri, which he said has undoubtedly contributed to the overall progress in the state.

He commended the Supreme Court for its thorough and unbiased adjudication, which has further strengthened the democratic fabric of our great nation. He, therefore, urged governor Diri to continue his outstanding work in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state and to uphold the values and principles that the IJAW NATION stands for.

The Souther Ijaw Traditional Rulers council in a statement on Tuesday, urged governor Diri to be magnanimous in victory and avoid the temptation of sidelining his perceived enemies in the distribution of dividends of democracy.

Therefore, we huge Gov Douye Diri to continue his outstanding work in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of southern Ijaw, particularly the Yenagoa–Oporoma road and other link roads to Eniwari and Ondewari and same across other LGA’s in the state. As people of southern Ijaw we will continue to support your policies and programs of government and also uphold the values and principles that the Ijaw Nation strands for he added.
