A Human Capital Development Expert, Professor Okey Ikechukwu has alleged that President Bola Tinubu should not celebrate his first 100 days in office. The Professor said in an interview with Arise Tv news that Nigeria has outgrown the era where they celebrate such in governance. According to him, the ceremony will cost the government billions of naira which would be against the administration’s promise to cut the cost in governance.

He said, ‘If you look at the entire template of the President, the idea is that by the time he has used 100 days in office, there will be a lot. I think Tinubu should not celebrate his 100 days in office, Nigerians don’t need that festival. It was John Kennedy who did that for the first time.

We don’t need to do that, the President is elected to lead. And if you look at all the precedence that we have had, whether at state level, local government level, or federal level, there are first 100 days. But the man has 45 months in office, it goes out with a noise all the time and it will cost a couple of billions. There will be excitement about how fantastic he has been. We don’t need that, we are not children.”
