Tinubu Snubs Betta Edu, Announces Key Appointments In Humanitarian Ministry

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed seven new heads for various agencies and programs under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development amid calls by imminent Nigerians to reinstate suspended Minister, Betta Edu.

The decision of President Tinubu to Shun Edu and appoint new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ministry was contained in a statement issued by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale on Tuesday in Abuja.

According to the President, the appointments are aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of the ministry’s initiatives and providing much-needed relief to Nigerians, especially vulnerable groups.

Dr Badamasi Lawal was appointed to I’m as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA); Ms. Funmilola Olotu as Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office; Ms. Aishat Alubankudi as Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups.

Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement and a former local government chairperson also made the list as Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding.

Other appointees include, Mr. Abdullahi Alhassan Imam as Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office; Mr. Ayuba Gufwan as Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities; Ms. Lami Binta Adamu Bello as Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons.

President Tinubu has expressed his expectation that these appointees will perform their duties with the highest level of integrity and diligence, ensuring that the administration’s welfare programs reach and benefit the most vulnerable groups in society.
