COFPIA, the Coalition of Fulbe Professionals in Africa, has distanced itself from Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore’s statement that it will not vote for Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi in the upcoming 2023 elections.

TrackNews recalls that the National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Alhaji Alhasan Salah, previously stated that they would not vote for Obi because he represents Biafran interests.

Obi is a tribal bigot who despises the North and the Fulani tribe, according to Al-hassann.

The Fulbe professional group stated in a statement issued on Monday by Prof. Mohammed Gidado, National President, and Hajiya Mairo Modibo, National Secretary, that while they recognize the group’s right to free speech, they would like to remind them that they do not speak for all Fulanis in Nigeria.

“Our attention has been drawn to a sectional, unpatriotic, ungodly, and senseless statement attributed to one of our brothers, Alhajji Hassan Saleh, the National Secretary of the most controversial Fulani group in Nigeria, which, without a doubt, is responsible for the bad name Fulani nation has been branded with in Nigeria,” the statement reads.

“Miyetti Allah’s politically motivated statement will no longer mislead the Fulbe all over Nigeria.”

“The Fulani have matured and can no longer be used as extortion and religious sentiment tools.” We will educate our citizens so that they will be able to vote for competence and capacity in 2023. We will never vote for a candidate who has nothing to offer. We’ve come a long way from religious and ethnic prejudices.

“We will vote for a president who will address the poverty and acute hunger that have held our people hostage for far too long.” We will vote for a president who, regardless of who is involved, will fight insecurity with zeal and objectivity.”
