President Buhari to inaugurate $250 million brewery in Ogun on August 28

– A $250 million dollar new brewery will soon be inaugurated in Ogun state by President Muhammadu Buhari
– The plant is International Breweries PLC ’s fourth brewery in Nigeria
– It has Trophy, Hero, Betamalt, Grandmalt, Castle lite and Eagle lager as its products line
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday, August 28, inaugurate a $250 million dollar new brewery in Ogun state. The plant which belonged to International Breweries PLC (IB Plc) is sited at Flowergate Industrial Scheme, Sagamu-Abeokuta expressway.
NAIJ.com learnt that the company has Trophy, Hero, Betamalt, Grandmalt, Castle lite and Eagle lager as its products line.
After the launching, the plant will be the company’s fourth brewery in Nigeria, after those in Ilesa, Onitsha, and Port-Harcourt.
The Nation reports that Tony Agah, the plant manager, while speaking on the inauguration also claimed that the plant will be the company’s largest plant within the group in Africa, outside of South Africa.
Agah was also reported to have disclosed that other dignitaries expected to join President Buhari to perform the commissioning include Okechukwu Enelamah, minister for commerce and industry, Udo Udoma, minster for budget and planning, Oscar Onyeama, president of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Carlos Britowill, the global chief executive officer of AB InBev.
Meanwhile, TRACK NEWS had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, August 18, reportedly restated his commitment to work harder to ensure that all who looted the nation’s treasury are jailed.
Buhari stated this while answering questions from journalists after disembarking from the presidential jet at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
