Presidential Puppet; Obasa’s Alleged Backing Sparks Uproar in Lagos Assembly
A Lagos West aspirant has suggested that President Bola Tinubu is directly involved in the ongoing crisis within the Lagos State House of Assembly, despite presenting an appearance of neutrality.
Speaking anonymously to Saturday Newsmen, the aspirant stated that Tinubu’s influence in the power struggle is unmistakable.
“The signs of Tinubu’s involvement in the Lagos Assembly crisis are clear,” he commented.
He compared the President’s role in the Lagos situation to his swift mediation in Rivers State, where he intervened between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Nyesom Wike.
“Mr. President intervened in the conflict between Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, yet he expects us to believe he is ignoring what is happening in the Lagos State House of Assembly,” he added.
The aspirant emphasized that it is evident Obasa has the President’s backing, which explains his current behavior.
He further challenged Tinubu to publicly clarify his stance on the crisis in the Lagos Assembly, rather than allowing speculation to grow.
“If Mr. President wants us to believe he is neutral in this crisis, he should come out openly and provide guidance on the matter,” he concluded.
