“PROSPERITY YOUTHS HOUSE” A Worthy Legacy Gift to The Prosperity Administration and Bayelsa State Youths in General : PYC Calls on Gov. Diri To Build a Youths Secretariat As Part Of His Consolidation Projects

**Urges The State Govt. to Carry Out Needs Assessment and Set Up Skills Data Bank Of Bayelsa Youths
There have been calls by critical youth leaders and stakeholders from across the state on the need for a Youths’ Secretariat Complex in the state, this is according to the Prosperity Youths Coalition (PYC) ably led by Snr.Comerade Doubara Kumokou.
The PYC in a statement issued by its secretary Barr. Ayebakuro Igbeta, reminded that the PYC has from inception made youths development, skills/talents development, employment and empowerment its key objective which is why the group came all out to support the Gov. Diri led Prosperity administration knowing the Governor as a man who listens, just same he heeded to the earlier call of the PYC to separate the Ministry of Youths from that of Sports Development, he widely known as a man poised for turning around the fortunes of all Bayelsa youths devoid of political, tribal, ethnic & party affiliations.
The PYC’s chief-scribe urged Gov. Douye Diri to now consider appreicating Bayelsa youths for their continuous love, loyalty and overwhelming support for his administration with a legacy gift/project by approving and building of a Youths’ Secretariat as demanded by youths across board, and name it
“THE PROSPERITY YOUTH HOUSE”
The Youths House when built should as proposed by various youths, house the State Ministry of Youths Development, the Central Zone of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Mosiend, Youth Councils, Youths Parliaments, the Various Federated Youths Councils of the LGAs, and sub-ethnic youths organizations such as the Ogbia Brotherhood Youth Council, The Oguan Youth Council etc and state liaison office for Youths NGOs.
According to Igbeta the Properity Youths House will become the rallying point for all youths and youths relates activities in the state, and make youths engagements less cumbersome and easier to coordinate, as the Youths House when built, just like the Education House, Information House, Revenue House, Finance House, and Treasury Building will become very conspicuous and accessible.
In a related manner the former IYC Legal Adviser called on the governor to direct either the Ministry of Youths or the Ministry of Labour/Productivity to as a matter of urgency carry out Needs Assessment of Bayelsa State youths, the needs assessment will enable government know how best to tackle issues of youths management and engagement in their various LGA’s, Wards and Communities, as even with all the resources in the world Government alone cannot appoint or employ every youth out there, but a needs assessment will allow for a data bank of demographic and skills-set of the youths which will directs government’s investment attitude and negotiations with Multinational, IOCs and investors especially in the direction of local content compliance and enforcement as every tier of society is expected to join hands to tackle youths employment, restiveness and the related security implications.
Barr. Ayebakuro Igbeta urged that a vast majority of Bayelsa youths subscribes to these calls and asks the government particularly the Governor to consider them, as it will be a thing of joy for them to witness him perform the foundation laying ceremony in a couple of months time to come, so that Sen. Douye Diri himself gets to commission the completed project before the expiration of his term in February, 2028.
