Qatar 2022: People in France want Messi to win World Cup – Deschamps
France’s head coach, Didier Deschamps, has claimed even some people from his country want Lionel Messi to win the World Cup Final.
The current holders face Argentina for the trophy on Sunday.
Messi is desperate to write another chapter in his glittering career by winning the biggest trophy of all.
Deschamps said: “I know Argentina and maybe some French people would hope Lionel Messi can win the World Cup.
“But we are going to do everything to achieve our objective.
“In the World Cup Final you not only have a match but also a whole context behind it and the objective is to come out with the title.”
Both France and Argentina are looking to win the trophy for the third time in their history
