Regional injustice major cause of insecurity in Nigeria – Northern Patriots tell Buhari

A northern group has tasked President Muhammadu Buhari to engage in periodic review of appointments, especially in the security sector until the needed results are achieved.
Operating under the aegis of Northern Patriots, the group, which claimed to be close apostles of President Buhari said it observed that regional injustice and imbalance in major appointments were the drivers of insecurity in the country.
The group asked the president to tackle Nigeria’s security problems by first correcting the identified ills.
In a statement on Monday, the National Coordinator of the group, Dr Balarabe Usman Wudil and its National Secretary, Zainab Muhammad, tasked Buhari not to hesitate to invest in technology to achieve the right and expected results.
“Insecurity, which has grown to a dangerous proportion in our dear country is fueled by regional imbalance and one-sided appointments, especially in government appointments.
“The clamour for self-rule and cessation in some quarters today is as a result of what we have identified.
“We humbly appeal to our dear listening president to correct the ills in our national life and give every part of the country a sense of belonging and getting our country to work again.
The group, which lamented the incessant abductions in the region, told the federal government that the 39 students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanization Afaka, near Kaduna, are still in captivity.
It tasked authorities to expedite actions to ensure that the victims are freed as soon as possible.
“We hasten to attribute the inability to secure the release of these students to the failure of security agencies to live up to their mandate, “the statement added.
“We want Mr President to know that Nigeria is at its melting point and he needs to act fast with the speed of light to save our country.
”We are his lovers and loyalists and this is the truth about the country’s situation, “it further said.
The Northern Patriots said it behoves on the president to address the challenges of insecurity and injustice before Nigeria begins to blame its self.
“We have a constitutional democracy and the most vital posture that a president can adopt to make it survive is to listen to the citizens. He needs to take drastic measures even if it’s going to hurt some interests to solve this insecurity problem in the country, he should do it now before it’s too late,” the statement said.
The group called on the President to seek foreign assistance if it becomes necessary to check the nation’s security challenges
“If the President needs to sack people to get the county working again, he should do. If he needs to seek foreign help, he should do so immediately. Nigerians are getting impatient and this is not good for our unity.
They warned Buhari not to give audience to those with religious and regional sentiments when it comes to issues of insecurity, saying the president must look beyond tribe in his appointments.
