Reno Omokri Mocks Tinubu Over Oyetola’s Defeat in Osun 2022
By Adeleye Kunle
Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has mocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, over the defeat of Governor Gboyea Oyetola in the Osun governorship election.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the governorship election on Sunday morning, defeating APC governorship candidate Oyetola.
Omokri mocked Tinubu in a Twitter post on Sunday for claiming during the APC mega rally in Ekiti State last month that he had never lost an election.
According to the former presidential aide, the APC Presidential candidate can no longer make that claim following the defeat of his cousin, the incumbent governor.
Omokri claimed that Tinubu’s situation is even worse because Osun is allegedly his home state.
He stated: “Tinubu’s most famous claim has been, “I have never lost an election.” He can’t make that claim after yesterday. It’s even worse for Tinubu because the state he lost is his **** state. The domino effect has begun and will not be stopped!”
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum has congratulated Senator Adeleke, the party’s candidate in the Osun governorship election, on his victory.
Adeleke won the election because the people trusted him, according to a statement signed by the Forum’s Chairman and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal.
The forum went on to say that the party’s candidate won the election because of his love and concern for his people’s well-being, and that victory was the wish of the state’s electorate.
It claimed that Osun state had been liberated and that it was now time for Nigeria to be rescued through the PDP’s intervention.
