Rivers APC Hints on Wike’s Health
***Tony Okocha Dismisses Claims of Nyesom Wike’s Ill Health, Says He’s Just Watching His Weight
Tony Okocha, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has dismissed reports circulating on social media that suggest Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, is unwell.
These rumors were sparked by concerns raised by some Nigerians, particularly on platforms like X, where Wike’s recent appearance was noted to be frail, with noticeable weight loss. Some even speculated that the 56-year-old minister might be suffering from an illness, pointing out that he appeared significantly older than his years.
However, Okocha, who is a staunch ally of Wike, swiftly responded to these claims, labeling them as completely false. He explained that the former governor of Rivers State is in good health and is simply managing his weight.
Okocha firmly stated, “The reports about his health are entirely untrue. There is no basis for them. Has anyone seen him collapse or show signs of illness?” He further emphasized that Wike remains very active in his ministerial duties and is fully engaged in his work.
The APC Rivers chairman also questioned the speculation, suggesting that it could just be a case of Wike monitoring his weight, rather than any indication of a serious health issue. “Do you even know if he is just watching his weight?” Okocha remarked, urging people to refrain from spreading unfounded rumors.
