Rivers crisis: Court bars Amaewhule, 24 others from parading as lawmakers
A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has barred the Speaker, Martin Chile Amaewhule, and 24 other lawmakers from parading as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Tracknew.Ng recalls that Amaewhule and 24 of his colleagues had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on whose platform they were elected, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Justice Charles N. Wali gave the order in a suit numbered PHC/1512/CS/2024, filled by Victor Oko Jumbo, factional Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, and two lawmakers, Sokari Goodboy and Orubienimigha Timothy, against Amaewhule and 24 others, the Governor of Rivers State, the Attorney General of the state and the Chief Judge of the state.
