‘Rivers Is Not One Of The States We Calculated Tinubu To Win To Become President’ – Sen. Magnus Abe

The Former Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers state, Senator Magnus Abe has openly revealed that it was never in the gameplan that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win Rivers state in the Presidential election. Senator Magnus Abe who’s formerly an APC Chieftain and a strategic member of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign council has alleged that they never foresaw Tinubu winning Rivers state.
He outlined that the computations being made before he left the party was quite different from what panned out in the Presidential election. He, however, stated that the game changer in this scenario is the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike who enabled the victory of Bola Tinubu in the state. According to him, Tinubu appears to have taken advantage of the change in dynamics of the politics at the end. Although the Rivers state Presidential election results are still in contention by the Labour Party at the Tribunal.
He said, ”Everybody knows that in Nigeria, I’m a member of the strategic team of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And before I went to contest for the governorship election, we have done our mathematics as far as the elections were concerned. And honestly, Rivers is not one of the states we calculated Tinubu to win to become President of Nigeria.
In politics, dynamics changes and any smart politician will take advantage of the dynamic change. The coming on board of the governor of Rivers State to support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was indeed a welcome development. And those of us who were supporting Asiwaju saw Wike coming on board as a positive game-changing move.”
