Roland Suobai Foundation distribute cash palliative to staff of media houses in Bayelsa State

The media remains the watchdog of the society, and its agenda setting role cannot be over emphasised.
However, following the removal of subsidy on Petroleum products many Nigerians including operators in the media industry being members of the society are also affected by the attendant socio-economic challenges occasioned by the policy.
In view of that, and to support media practitioners to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently notwithstanding the economic realities, the Roland Suobai Foundation, whose mandate is on Health, Education and Welfare extended his philanthropist efforts to some media organisations in the state

the southern Ijaw born philanthropist Comd Roland Suobai. The team was ably led by the foundation
team lead Mr Kenneth Zifawei paid a courtesy visit to most media houses in Bayelsa State noted that the move was to encourage staff of the various media organisations with cash palliatives to cushion the effect of transportation hike on them as a result of the subsidy removal and pledge it’s continuous effort to support both the Federal Government FGN and the Bayelsa State Government.
However considering the enormous role the media plays in nation building he added.
General Managers and Heads of benefitting stations lauded the Foundation for its commitment to health, education and welfare of vulnerable Nigerians and extending the gesture to the media community is no mean feat.
They promised to partner the Foundation, and support its activities towards delivery of the mandate of reaching out to vulnerable Nigerians.
Media outfits that benefited include NTA Yenagoa, AIT, People’s FM, Rythm FM and Gesiye publication.
The Foundation promised to reach out to the remaining media stations in the state in the second phase.
It will be recalled that the foundation has earlier provided palliative for some christian leaders and their members and the Muslim community, and several other interventions in Bayelsa State. Nigeria.
