Roma Parts Ways with Mourinho: Serie A Club Initiates Immediate Change for Best Interests
Serie A club AS Roma has officially announced the sacking of coach Jose Mourinho, stating that the decision is “in the best interests of the club.” The departure includes Mourinho’s technical team and is effective immediately, even though his contract was set to expire in June.
Owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin expressed gratitude for Mourinho’s passion and efforts during his tenure, citing the need for an immediate change. Despite Mourinho guiding Roma to the Europa Conference League trophy in 2022, this season has seen the club struggle, currently sitting in ninth place in Serie A.
