Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has stated his opposition to Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club.

Schmeichel hopes that all parties involved in the recent crisis will work together to find a solution.

Ronaldo slammed the Red Devils hierarchy, manager, and even club owners in an explosive interview with ace journalist Piers Morgan earlier this week.

He accused them of mismanaging the club and ‘betraying’ him, and he stated that he has ‘no respect’ for Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United stated that they are investigating the issues raised by the veteran striker and will decide their next course of action.

According to reports in England, Ten Hag has already decided that the Portugal international must leave.

“I have faith in fairytales.” “I’m a huge fan of Ronaldo, and I think Manchester United has the best players in the world,” Schmeichel said on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast.

“I hope there will be a chance for his representatives and Manchester United to sit down and talk this through and find a solution, because I really want Cristiano to stay a Manchester United player.”

“I feel terrible for Manchester United, United fans, and Ronaldo that this has turned out the way it has.”
