Ronaldo: It’s crazy money for him, I’m not surprised – Wes Brown on Al-Nassr’s new signing
Former Manchester United defender, Wes Brown, has said his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr is crazy money for the Portugal captain.
Ronaldo joined the Saudi Arabia club on a free transfer on Friday after agreeing to a deal said to be worth a massive £177million-a-year.
Speaking on the development, Brown was not surprised by Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr, insisting that the 37-year-old tried to leave Manchester United in the summer.
“Ultimately, he tried to go in the summer and there was nothing really here for him,” Brown told Metro UK.
“I am not sure what clubs [were in], but the clubs he wanted to come in just didn’t.
“Ultimately, it is crazy money for him. It will be a bit different for him, it will be a different experience for him.
“But regardless, he is a legend of the game and whatever people say, as a Manchester United fan, he will always be a legend at the club.
