Ronaldo wanted the interview – Piers Morgan drops shocking update
Piers Morgan, a British broadcaster, claims that Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo approached him about doing the controversial interview in which he claimed he felt “betrayed” by Manchester United.
According to Morgan, Ronaldo wanted the interview to focus on his strained relationship with Premier League manager Erik ten Hag and the club.
He also stated that the 37-year-old wanted it to be released before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“It was requested by Cristiano. It’s as simple as that. He asked me, not me asking him. He’s been considering it for some time.
“He feels compelled to speak out; he knows it will be incendiary and cause upheaval, but he also feels compelled to do so.” He is aware that people will criticize him, but he is also aware that what he is saying is correct.
“Sometimes the truth is painful. “He’d been thinking about it for a while, and then I got a call,” Morgan explained.
Ronaldo’s current contract at Old Trafford expires in June 2023.
Although United have the option to extend his contract for another year, it is widely expected that the former Real Madrid and Juventus star has played his final game for the club.
