Salga ward 12 leaders Endorse Dickson for Senate.
TRACKING______The leadership of Ward 12 in Sagbama local government area of Bayelsa State has thrown it’s weight behind the former governor of Bayelsa State Gov Henry Seriake Dickson in his quest to represent the people of Bayelsa West at the Red Chamber.
The meeting which took place at the official residence of the ward leader, had in attendance Hon Bernard Kenebai (Member Representing Sagbama Constituency II), Hon Evelyn Kolo (Councilor Ward 12), Wilson Aso (Supervisory Councilor Ward 12), Yekwe Boukuromo (Member Bayelsa New Media), Hon Nein Ebiakpo (Pioneer Assembly Member), Prince Edure Banabas (Former Chairman SALGA), Hon Koribokiri Yague (Former Chairman MOLGA), Hon Alice (Former Councilor ward 12)
Mr Orusha Stanley among others.
After a brief introductory statement by Hon Bernard Kenebai, where he emphasized the need for the ward to remain united and give their total support to one credible candidate in the forthcoming Senatorial bye election, the people took their turns to enounce their admiration and support for the Ofuruma-Pepe to represent them in the Senate.
While speaking, Prince Banabas Edure noted that the candidature of Dickson is not just about Bayelsa West but for the interest of the entire Ijaw Nation. He maintained that Ofuruma-Pepe is a voice to the people of Ijaw Nation, and should be supported by every well meaning Bayelsan to the Senate.
Also Speaking, Hon Bernard Kenebai admitted to the fact that there could be other qualified candidates too, but also insisted the OFURUMA-PEPE remains the most qualified in this material time.
According to Kenebai Hon Dickson Seriake remains the most qualified for the position due to the massive experiences Dickson has acquired over the years. He cited Dickson’s stint at the Federal House of Representatives, his time as Attorney General of the state and his 8 years stint as governor of Bayelsa State. He asserted that, this overwhelming experience by Dickson has prepared him to take up the task of representing the Bayelsa West in the Red Chamber.
Other notable speakers in the meeting are Hon Evelyn Kolo of Toru-Ebeini, Hon Alice of Akeddei and Dr Paul Ebi John of Ayamaebeni. They all spoke in favour of Dickson’s candidature, stating various reasons.
A motion for adoption of Hon Dickson as the sole candidate of the Bayelsa Senatorial bye election irrespective of party was moved by Hon Bananas Edure, and was Seconded by Mr Lubo Clever of Akeddei.
Accordingly, the ward in a voice vote, adopted Dickson as the sole candidate for the Senatorial bye election of Bayelsa West.
