He said, “For us at Samkay Academy, we thought that we should provide these kind of platforms to our young ones and see how we can discover great talents that will become national champions and rule the world.
I feel very excited today with what we have seen on the tartan tracks with these young athletes. We have seen champions for tomorrow in the 100m, 400m, 800m and even long jump, and this shows that we have got the potentials here in Bayelsa, so all we need to do is to give them all the support. That is what we are doing at Samkay Academy to ensure that we have those who will make Bayelsa proud,” Oredipe stated.
Also, Mr. Andrew Aye, Director in the State’s Sports Council admonished the athletes stressing that aspiration is what will lead them to greater heights.
About a hundred secondary school students across Bayelsa State took to the tartan tracks at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa to participate in series three of the Samkay Athletics Meet.
