Security Operatives Arrest Benue Most Wanted Criminal, Azonto

The joint team of security operatives around Benue and Taraba borders have arrested the most wanted criminal in Benue State, Azonto.
It was gathered that Aondofa Kefas popularly known as Azonto took over from Terwase Akwaza, also known as Gana, who was killed by the military on September 8, 2020.
Azonto was the second-in-command to Gana before the militia leader met his waterloo.
A source told Kemi Filani News that the criminal was apprehended by the joint team of security operatives around the Benue and Taraba borders on Thursday, September 23.
Security operatives had accused Azonto of terrorising communities around Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
It was reported that Azonto and his gangs have been abducting residents and robbing farmers and local traders as well as corroborating with Fulani militia herdsmen to kill people in the area.
A source that spoke on the development disclosed that Azonto was fleeing Benue following a manhunt against him, when he was caught at the border.
The militia leader was arrested around Taraba territory and is currently in the custody of the Department of State Security.
