Security organizations affirm Oborevwori certificates in 2023

Security organizations have certified that the credentials produced by the Appellant are his own as the Court of Appeal in Abuja reserves judgment in the appeal brought by Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori against the decision of a Federal High Court (Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori).

The police and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were reportedly invited to probe the validity of the certificates that Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori provided to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, by his opponents.

The organizations who sprang into action wrote to and visited every school that Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, claimed to have attended on his nomination forms.

The Track News learned, however, that all the institutions attested to Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s enrollment.

The Tracknews also learned that the universities where Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in political science, Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma and Delta State University in Abraka, confirmed in a letter to the two security agencies that he earned second class upper (2:1) grades at the BSc level and an MSc in the same field, respectively.

While the Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma acknowledged that Sheriff Francis Oborevwori was named on the certificate it gave him, the Delta State University in Abraka claimed that the same was true.

The institutions also stated that Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori had signed an affidavit that was published in the Observer newspapers edition of January 30, 2004, to address the concern that his primary and secondary school transcripts did not include the name Sheriff.

While this was going on, Mr. Jacob Akpodiogaga, the former principal of Oghareki Grammar School in Oghara, where Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori re-enrolled for his WASC exam, confirmed that the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly had taken the WAEC exam during the 1998–1999 session.

Additionally, in separate interviews, classmates of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori from both secondary schools and universities attested that the Speaker was a fellow student.

Both his Ambrose Alli University classmate, Chief Mrs. 5g Ikimi, a lawyer, affirmed vvv Rt Hon Oborevwori was their student and provided a precise description of the Speaker.

Recall that Olorogun David Edevbie, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s opponent, is suing the PDP over the lopsided victory of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori in the guber primary, saying that the candidate’s credentials were falsified.

The Court of Appeal, which heard the case on August 19th, has postponed rendering a decision until a time that will be announced to all parties and is before September 5th, 2022.
