Semi Ajayi may miss Lesotho, Zimbabwe clash

Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi may miss world cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe as he is still nursing injury.
The West Bromwich Albion star has been ruled out of Monday’s English Championship clash against Coventry City at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Ajayi, who has 26 caps for the Super Eagles, is currently nursing an ankle injury and West Bromwich manager Carlos Corberán has provided an update regarding the player.
“I am in the same situation with this (a ‘miracle’ for Ajayi to be ready), it’s a challenge,” Corberán said on Express and Star.
“He has a grade two ligament (damage) of the ankle, it’s a different type of injury and we need to see how he progresses.
“He’s doing his best but he’s still a big question mark for the next game.
Nigeria head coach Jose Peseiro will soon announce the Super Eagles squad that will face Lesotho and Zimbabwe in the 2026 World Cup next month.
Eagles were not part of the last World Cup in Qatar and will be hoping to avoid hitting the bad books of their fans by picking a ticket to the 2026 world Cup .
