Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Emmanuel Bwacha Dumps PDP For APC, Visits Buhari

The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker on Thursday was taken to the Aso Rock Villa where he met with President Muhammadu Buhari.
www.tracknews.ng reports Bwacha was taken to the Villa by the Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Gov Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State.
Bwacha is the Senator representing Taraba South in the red chamber of the National Assembly.
The 59-year-old lawmaker was born in the Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State. He served as Commissioner of Agriculture for Taraba State between 1999 and 2003 in the Jolly Nyame administration.
He was elected to the Federal House of Representatives for the Donga/Ussa / Takum Constituency, serving from May 2003 to May 2007 before losing his bid to go to the Senate in the 2007 elections.
Bwacha was successfully elected in the 2011 elections on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was re-elected in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
In other news, the All Progressives Congress has finally informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the February 26 National Convention after months of contemplating.
The ruling party directed the letter dated February 2, 2022, with reference number APC/NHDQ/INEC/19/022/14, to the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu.
The letter was jointly signed by Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, the National Secretary; and the Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Mai Mala Buni.
