Shehu Sani knock Buhari For Extended London Trip Over Medical Attention
Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central, has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari for his regular medical trips abroad.
TRACKNEWS reports that in a post on Wednesday morning, Sani berated the President, stating that he started his tenure with ear treatment in London and is now ending it with tooth treatment in the same city.
He also expressed disappointment over the poor state of medical facilities and workers in Nigeria despite the government spending billions of naira on the sector.
Reacting to the development, Sani wrote: “The President’s tenure began with the ear treatment in London & it’s ending with the tooth treatment in London. He is leaving behind a history of Billions spent on the Villa Clinic, Strikes by health workers, impending strikes by Resident Doctors & exodus of health professionals.”
This criticism comes on the heels of a statement by Femi Adesina, Buhari’s media aide, on Tuesday, announcing that the President will be staying in London for an additional week on the advice of his dentist.
According to the release, the specialist wants to see the President in five days to complete a procedure that has already begun.
President Buhari had initially traveled to the UK to attend the coronation of King Charles III and was expected to return to Nigeria early this week.
However, his stay has been extended for medical reasons.
