SHOCKING: Buhari Holds APC Stakeholders But Tinubu Is Not Present
Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria, has met with some official stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) today at the State House, Abuja.
The delegation, which comprises Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, Idris Wase, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, the APC Vice Presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, and other vital members of the party, was seen prepared to meet with the President at about 03:00 pm, Friday.
But, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential flag-bearer of the party for 2023, did not attend the meeting.
Track News Nigeria covers that others who are at the meeting include: the former Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbe, Former Speaker, Dimeji Bankole and former Chief of Air Staff Air Marshall, Sadiq Abubakar while the Governors are: Babagana Zulum of Borno, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa and Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi.
Also, a former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, and Senator representing Taraba South Senatorial District, Emmanuel Bwacha, were also in attendance
Recall that the visit follows after two days after Shettima was unveiled as Tinubu’s substantive running mate.
In his response to the agitations on the Muslim-Muslim ticket by his party, Shettima explained the APC ticket was not designed to protect the interests of one faith as there were religious leaders to do that.
He noted: “In Borno, we spent over N1bn naira rebuilding churches destroyed by the Boko Haram insurgency. And this legacy has been continued by Governor Babagana Zulum. We have taken more Christian pilgrims to Jerusalem than some of the Northern states headed by Christians.”
There are hearsays that President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu may not be on the same line after the Party’s loss in the just concluded governorship election in Osun State.
