Shocking: Two Years After Dethronement, Sanusi And Ganduje Reunite
BY: Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed, North
Sanusi Lamido, the dethroned Emir of Kano and Abdullahi Ganduje, the incumbent Governor of Kano State, have met for the first time in two years after the powerful monarch was dethroned and removed from office.
In March 2020, the Kano State Government while announcing the dethronement of Sanusi cited that “total disrespect to lawful instructions from the office of the Governor” was a basis for his removal.
The duo in the now-viral video seen by The Nation, met at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Findings by TrackNews Nigeria revealed that it was the first time the Governor and dethroned Emir would be seen together since 2020.
In a short clip capturing their meeting, TrackNews Nigeria covers the former Emir and Ganduje, who could be seen shaking hands at a lounge in the airport.
Our Correspondent, Mr. Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed, says the clip has since generated mixed reactions on all social media platforms.
